Through our 6-week Pilot Program, our fearless founder will lead you through a process to help you build a music brand that's true to you, tune into an authentic audience made up of real fans and connect the dots by using proven music promotion strategies to help people discover your music. 

Whether you're looking to make a living or simply leave a legacy with your music, this program will provide you with tools and help you prioritize next steps so you can live "the dream" in real life.

WEEK 2 // STORY 

  • Topic - Start with your story - an overview of what goes into a BRANDCHECK (aka brand audit) and how to make a strong first/lasting impression through relevant partnerships.

WEEK 3 // TARGET 

  • Topic - Tune into your target audience - an overview of what goes into a FANALYTICS Report (aka consumer insights) with a focus on how to find your ‘perfect fanbase.’

WEEK 4 // ALIGN 

  • Topic - Align your resources - an overview about how to be clear about your content by making the most of what you have, using the MIX Method, making a VIBE Guide to keep creative control as you evolve.

WEEK 5 // REACH 

  • Topic - Reach people - an overview about what success looks like for your release with an emphasis on belief-based marketing strategies (aka earned media aka social media, public relations).

WEEK 6 // SUSTAIN 

  • Topic - Sustain your career - an overview about ways to monetize your music career through live shows, desirable merch and streaming revenue.

 Whitney Asher 

 Whitney is the founder of The Marketing Mixtape, a branding & promotions agency that helps musicians connect their music with listeners in a memorable way. Having worked at Capitol Records and iHeartMedia, armed with a Masters Degree in Strategy & Business from the nationally-ranked VCU Brandcenter, Whitney is passionate about helping musicians share their music stories. To date, Whitney has teamed up with grammy-award winning artists including Jason Mraz as well as “The Voice” Contestants, SoundStripe, Xbox, NASCAR, CamelBak & 200+ musicians of all genres & stages of their music journey. With a passion for education, Whitney sits on the Board of Directors for Kid Pan Alley, a nonprofit dedicated to rekindling creativity as a core value in education through collaborative songwriting experiences. The Marketing Mixtape’s mission, “dream fearlessly,” is based on the idea that nothing should stand in the way of a musician with a dream… especially business.
